PRICE OF TRIP: All prices are in US dollars and are based on exchange rates, room rates and other prices quoted to us at the time of scheduling. In the rare event that changes become necessary, we will inform you as soon as possible. An increase in price is not grounds for a refund.
Rates are based on a minimum group size. If the workshop does not have sufficient enrollment, a supplemental fee may have to be charged, or the trip may be canceled. In either case, we will inform you as soon as possible. In the event of a canceled workshop, you will receive your refund in full.
Accommodation costs are based on double occupancy. Single rooms are an additional cost. If requested, we’ll do our best to arrange for a roommate, but it cannot be guaranteed. If no one is available with whom you can share, or if you desire a single room, we must ask that you pay the single room supplement.
Everyone is welcome to join our workshops, including non-photographers; they will receive a 15% discount off of the base photo tour fee.
THE PRICE INCLUDES: Photography guidance, accommodations, all breakfasts, ground transportation, in-vehicle snacks and bottled water and entrance fees for sites.
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: These items are the responsibility of each participant: Airfare (travel costs between your home and the starting city and return). Expenses incurred outside the tour days, such as transportation and accommodation costs. Entrance fees or costs related to optional sites or activities not included in the itinerary. Excess baggage fees, medical costs, personal items, incidental charges at our hotel such as internet access charges, mini bars, phone calls or laundry. Baggage or travel insurance, passport and visa expenses and departure taxes.
PAYMENTS: All payments should be made in U.S. Dollars. Reservation deposits of the amount listed for each workshop shall be submitted along with your Enrollment Form. Reservation deposits may be made by personal check, cashier check, or money order. The remainder of the tour fee, is due 45-days prior to the beginning of the tour. These final payments may be made by personal check cashier check, or money order.
CANCELLATION POLICY: You must notify us in writing of your withdrawal and cancellation. All notifications must be made via email. The date of your email notification will be used as the date you gave your notice to cancel.
If you cancel your reservation more than 60 days before the starting date of the workshop, you will get a refund in full minus a $30 handling charge.
If you cancel 45 days prior to the starting date of the workshop, only 50% of the total fee (including the deposit payment) can be refunded.
If you cancel 30 days before the starting date of the workshop, no refund can be made. Sorry.
All refunds will be made in the form of a check.
We reserve the right to cancel any photo tour for any reason. If we cancel a tour, we will refund all payments made by you. In this case, Paper Lantern Photography Workshops is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the participants, including airfare, travel insurance, etc. We strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance in case this does happen. Consult your travel agent or online providers such as www.travelex-insurance.com.
LATE ARRIVAL: If for any reason a participant arrives at the starting city after the arrival date listed on the brochure page, it will be your responsibility to meet up with the group. You will be expected to arrange and pay for your own way until you catch up with the group.
ACCOMMODATIONS: The cost of accommodations is included in the tour fee and applies from Day 1 to the end of the tour. Paper Lantern Photography Workshops will find the best accommodations according to what is available and what we feel is best for the group. Be aware that the comfort level of the accommodations ranges by location. Accommodations are chosen for their uniqueness, geographic location and value for your money. All rooms are non-smoking.
MEALS: The cost of all breakfasts, van snacks, and bottled water is included in the trip price. Lunch and dinner are not included unless otherwise stated. This is to give more flexibility to participants if they wish to try something different.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation costs included in the tour fee apply from Day 1 to the end of the tour. If you arrive a day or more before the trip starts or depart after the final day of the tour, your transportation is not included.
LUGGAGE: Paper Lantern Photography Workshops ask that participants limit their luggage to the equivalent of one suitcase/backpack, one carry-on bag, and one camera bag and a tripod. This allows for easier mobility when traveling. All personal luggage is the responsibility of the owner.
MEDICAL MATTERS: Participants are personally responsible for maintaining and keeping current your inoculations, prescriptions, and dietary regime. You must notify Paper Lantern Photography Workshops, in writing, of any health concerns before the start of the trip.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY: You understand and agree that by enrolling and participating in this photo tour you are accepting certain risks. Your signature on the registration form serves as a release of our liability and a complete assumption of all risks by you and any persons accompanying you. Further, your signature on the Registration Form indicates that you are aware that travel, wherever it may be and by whatever means, involves some inherent risk of injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to personal property, which may be caused by forces of nature, negligence or actions of others, or other agencies. Your signature will defer Chun Ming Huang, doing business on behalf of Paper Lantern Photography Workshops from any and all liabilities, because you are assuming the risks yourself.
You are traveling to areas which may be remote or foreign, mountainous or wilderness, and which may not be operated by the standards to which you are accustomed. These factors, among others, may involve certain additional risks, dangers, and inconveniences.
You understand and agree that medical services or facilities may not be readily available during all or part of the trip, and that this includes emergency medical care, presence of physicians, and adequate medication. We assume no responsibility for medical care or any special dietary requirements you may have. Your signature will defer Chun Ming Huang, doing business on behalf of Paper Lantern Photography Workshops from any and all liabilities, actions, causes of action, claims, debts, and demands of any kind.
You understand and agree that travel with a group invariably involves compromise to accommodate fellow travelers.
You understand that you are personally responsible for being in sufficiently good health to undertake different types of activities. By completing and signing the Enrollment Form and submitting a deposit, you verify that you do not have any physical or other conditions or disabilities that would create risk for you or other participants.
