"Our workshops are a one of a kind experience and don't solely focus on the normal touristy hot-spots. We strive to give you a taste of local life by staying at bed-and-breakfasts when possible, eating regional cuisine and visiting unique locations. We don't want you to just take photographs, we want you to experience the town, city or village you visit. This is not your typical photography workshop!"

About Us

Paper Lantern Photographic Travel, specializing in photographic workshops in China, was founded by Chun Ming Huang; a photographer and traveling fanatic. Fluent in Chinese and an avid traveler to China, Chun Ming has developed a photography tour of China that allows him to combine his two passions. His goal is to share his experience with fellow photographers of all levels so that they may capture extraordinary photos to show or sell back home. Of all the places to visit in China, he is reluctant to go to the touristy spots; instead, he favors places that are harder to reach by the “typical” tourist. Applying this same philosophy to his photography, he strives to capture images from unique vantage points.

Chun Ming currently works as a Director of Photography for films and televisions in Los Angeles.
